Health Promotion and Education
What We Do
HPE works collaboratively with American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) community members through our awarded grants, Board of Directors, CORE Coalition, and TAG to develop creative, innovative, culturally appropriate, and cost effective interventions that result in positive individual, tribal, community and social norm changes. HPE programs build upon the strengths of the individual and community. Our focus is to empower individuals, families, tribes, and the community to make healthy choices based on sound information and education in order to achieve the organization’s vision: “Healthy mind, body and spirit for generations of our American Indian Community.”
Goal of HPE
The goal of Health Promotion & Education is to create healthier AI/AN communities by developing, coordinating, implementing, and disseminating effective health promotion and chronic disease prevention programs through collaboration with key stakeholders and by building on individual, family, and community strengths and assets.
