We are growing! UIHS clinical team is currently providing medical services to our clients at five different sites within Humboldt. These sites include: Potawot Health Village, Rrak Jach Village, Jaroujiji, Eureka Health Center, and Weitchpec. UIHS clinical team has been rapidly developing, and we are very excited to welcome some fresh new faces that have joined our village.
One of our newest additions to our clinical services is nephrology by means of virtual telehealth. We are currently providing this specialty service in person, out of Potawot Health Village. Nicole Alvarado, PA works closely with two Nephrologist brothers Dr. Inderpreet Sekhon and Dr. Satpreet Sekhon to provide Nephrology care. This service is helping our clients tremendously. It has limited the requirement to see an outside provider and the wait times for visits. It has been a crucial inclusion for our clients who are in need of this service. (See page 8 for more indepth information.)
May Hong, MD. Dr. Hong is a family medicine provider and will be working alongside Dr. Grossman out of Potawot Health Village. She will be working two days out of the week as well to help serve our clients. We are very excited to have them both join our village.
Locum Provider Wanda Hicks, NP will also be joining us very soon. Wanda is a family medicine provider, and she will be serving clients out of our Eureka Health Center site. We are pleased to have her additional support with serving our clients and community.
Locum Pediatrician Lisa Alcazar, MD is also working out of our Jaroujiji site providing care and fulfilling the needs of our pediatric clients. Dr. Alcazar can see children of all ages 0-18 and has been handling majority of our well child checks, sports physicals, and dental clearances along with regular routine visits. We are thankful to have her on our team.
Rachael Adair, CNM is a midwife who provides services out of our Rrak Jach Village sites. Rachael works primarily with our OB clients and is also providing acupuncture services on Mondays. She has been an excellent addition to our team and helps greatly with meeting the needs of our OB clients.
In addition, the Potawot remodel is coming to completion very soon in August, and we will be expanding our services even more! We will be advertising front office assistants, medical assisting, and nursing job opportunities as well as onboarding more providers! There is a lot to look forward to in the coming months, and we are very excited to be able to provide our community and clients with more opportunities, more access, and better continuity of care.
