Community Support
Youth & Traditional Community Funds
UIHS is committed to providing assistance to the American Indian community that we serve. If you live in the UIHS service area in Humboldt or Del Norte County, you may be eligible to apply for support from two different funds. These funds are designed to support drug, alcohol, and commercial tobacco-free events that provide a healthy benefit for our community and clients.
The two Funds Are:
- Fund 042 – Traditional Community Support
- Fund 045 – Community and Youth Support
Funding Guidelines
- All applicants must be an American Indian “Eligible Beneficiary” registered for services at UIHS.
- All requests for financial support must be for community events or functions in the UIHS Service Area or for travel to a traditional community function outside of the UIHS Service Area that help to reinforce the message of Alcohol-free, Commercial Tobacco-free, Vape-Free, and Drug-free activities in the community. Fund 042 can be utilized to support traditional ceremonial activities or events.
- All requests for funds must be submitted on the appropriate fund request form either in person, by mail, email, or relayed by telephone to a staff member to fill out the form and presented to the Cultural Resources and Events (CRE) committee for review and consideration.
- The maximum amount of requests that may be requested in any fiscal year shall be up to $300 for requests that support group activities and up to $150 for requests in support of single individuals
- All requests should be submitted as far in advance as possible to permit timely processing.
