As part of our ongoing effort to strengthen health care access for our clients, United Indian Health Services is proud to announce the opening of a second location at our Rrak Jach Health Village.

Located at 4779 Valley East Boulevard, this new site offers family medical care, behavioral health services, and psychiatric care. Maria Spetzler serves as the primary medical provider at this location, with Dr. Townsend providing psychiatric services. To schedule an appointment, please call 707-825-3970.

The addition of this new location creates expanded space at Rrak Jach Village for specialty providers, including OB care, podiatry, and midwifery services – supporting women’s health in many forms.

Another part of our effort on strengthening our access to our clients is the expansion of our Potawot Medical Facility which is currently undergoing a significant remodel. Construction started in 2024 and is actively underway, with completion anticipated in July of 2026. As this portion of Potawot Health Village expands, so does something just as important – our team.

In the coming months, we’ll be welcoming several new medical providers and expanding our capacity to care for clients. Our goal is not only to enhance the physical space, but to build a stronger foundation for expanded services, greater appointment availability, and a more coordinated patient experience.

Renovation of the Medical Department at Potawot Health Village.

Our Potawot Pharmacy is one of the key areas we are remodeling and is scheduled to be first area complete. This new pharmacy space will help us to be able to provide pharmacy services on a larger scale with more modernized equipment.

Our UIHS Vision department was temporarily moved out of their regular space during this remodel so we could use their area to see medical patients. Once the Potawot remodel is complete, Vision will be able to move back into their newly updated space at Potawot and enjoy upgrades such as new flooring and fixtures to match the rest of the facility.

Once the medical remodel is complete, Potawot Medical Facility will become home to six medical providers onsite, allowing us to better meet the growing needs of our community. The updated space will also support expanded services, improved working environments, and a more comfortable space for both clients and staff. This expansion will also extend to employees as well and will offer our staff a more comfortable break area.

Projects like this represents a significant planning and a long-term investment in the health of our community. Because of this work, we will be able to see more patients daily with updated equipment and more space for our providers, employees, and clients.

We appreciate everyone’s patience during this period of growth and look forward to welcoming clients into a stronger, more connected Potawot in 2026.
