Board of Directors Treasurer, Area 4 Indian Community Representative

Pimm Tripp-Allen (Karuk/Yurok) is an elected community representative for UIHS Area 2 which includes areas north of the Mad River to the Del Norte County line. She is a mother, grandmother, auntie and ceremonial leader for Karuk Womens Camp for the Brushdance and Flower Dance ceremonies. She currently works as the Vice-President of Programs, Community Partnerships and Tribal Relations with the Humboldt Area Foundation, and has worked over the past three decades in Cultural Arts management, Tribal Health and Tribal Education.
She is a 3rd generation UIHS Board Member, following in the steps of both her grandmothers and her mom. She feels blessed to have served on the Board as a young woman in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s where she got to learn from many of the elders and UIHS Board Members who had been doing this work for decades.
She later was the first employee of the UIHS Traditional Resources Program. Most recently Pimm served as a Producer on the award winning short documentary, Long Line of Ladies, which shared the story of her youngest daughters Ihuk and also the story of the revitalization and importance of this ceremony. She and her partner Alme also serve as the founders and co-directors of Spawning Ground, which works to re-indigenize places and spaces on arts, culture and community project at a time in an effort to promote wellness, healing and joy.
