UIHS Medical Services provides comprehensive full spectrum chronic and acute outpatient services with a focus on pro-active preventative care. Our clients range from healthy babies to active senior and across multiple generations. We strive to provide culturally sensitive care that empowers the client to be an active participant in their care.
UIHS Medical Services is one of the few clinics in California whose physicians provide full scope obstetric services, where prenatal services are coordinated by our NA-AS (OB) Nurse, and our skilled physicians manage and deliver babies at local hospitals.
A coordinated referral system is available to help clients with referrals made by a Medical Provider to other specialty services and programs.
General Services provided by Medical Staff include:
Preventative Services, Acute and Chronic Care, Model Diabetes Program, Well Child Program, Prenatal and OB Services, and general medical services.

Acute Hospital Care
UIHS physicians admit clients to Mad River Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital within Humboldt County and Sutter Coast Hospital in Del Norte County.
Potawot Health Village and Smith River have Registered Nurses on Duty every day to triage patients and to assist with care needs.
After Hours Services
UIHS provides a direct link to an after hours answering service; where a Registered Nurse is available to triage client health questions and concerns.
